Resumo:

Regression is the search for the mathematical expression that best describes a given data. This technique is capable of finding nonlinear relationships but with the benefit of creating interpretable models. In this talk we will introduce the core concepts of symbolic regression, its applications in machine learning and data mining, some of its uses in industry and a highlight of the information that can be extracted from such models.

Mini-Biografia:

Bogdan Burlacu was born in Romania, he has a master degree in Systems and Computer Engineering from Iasi, Romania, a ph.D. degree at the HEAL group in Upper Austria in Software Engineering. He is currently member of Josef Ressel Centre for Symbolic Regression at University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. He has experience in Data Science, modelling, and he is the current chess champion in Upper Austria.
